The snow is here and many families in the Bay Area want to go have a fun snow day. There are so many fun places to visit and play with your family in the snow. There are many ski resorts like Heavenly, Northstar, Squaw Valley and Granlibakken that offer inner tubing, ice skating and many other activities. Most of these resorts are located only a few hours away from the Bay Area. These often charge fees both for activities and parking. But there also places like California Sno-Park's that offer a low cost alternative for families. These are places with access to winter recreation with a place to park your car for around $5 for a permit for a no frills place to play in the snow. Its up to you to bring your family and enjoy some snow play building snow men, sledding, snowshoeing and cross country skiing. There are also seasonal permits that are usually around $25. Make sure you purchase a SNO-PARK permit or CHP will give you a ticket for over $90.
