Discovering the Berryessa Branch Library

By Ashley Higashi, Macaroni Kid NE San Jose-Milpitas August 29, 2019

One of our favorite things to do on a late Saturday afternoon is to visit a local library (especially when it's so hot out).  The Berryessa Branch Library is one of our faves for many reasons.  We always head directly to the Children's area where there are a ton of books, a play area with toys, and 2 computers designated for children ages 0-5.  My 4 year old enjoys checking out the books, as the process is simple and fun for a little one.

What makes this library even more special is that there is a huge pond out front with a ton of ducks (as of August 2019, the pond is under construction and the ducks are not there).  However, with ducks, comes a lot of their poo, so just walk with caution and shoes are best.    Lastly, what my kids will probably consider the BEST part about this library, is that there is an awesome playground out back.  There is also a HUGE grassy area, perfect for running around.  There isn't a ton of shade on the playground, which is why we so much enjoy coming here late in the afternoon.

Some features we love!

Some downsides
